Renovation Updates

You are not going to want to miss this update. It has been almost 2 years since we bought this house which I cannot even believe it. I know the first thing you want to know is...are you done renovating yet?! Short answer yes and no. We have a lot of little details to go but all of the major work is done! PTL!!

Has any of your initial plans changed?

To my surprise, because if you know me you know I am always changing my design and ideas, no they haven't changed! I have added a few more to our initial ideas, like a bookcase in the office and bead board too, but it will make a few things in the house easier to complete.

What do you have left?

- Powder Room / Laundry Rooms Walls + Doors

- Basement Stairs + Painting

- Baseboards / Trim

- Closet Doors

- Bookcases x2

- Lots of Trim Painting

- Replace One Window

- Kitchen Crown Molding

- Outside Blue Trim Painting

- Porch Railings

- Some Odds + Ends

I know that is a long list but from where we started this is nothing and we can do most of this on our own :) My office is still a holding/ dumping ground for anything and it is mostly my stuff but we will get there!

I actually have been finding a lot of pieces on facebook to complete our reno and save us some $$$. I scored a round mirror for $20, the powder room vanity for $10 and my biggest save all of our closet bi-fold doors for $100 (for 4 sets of doors, retail new for these is $500!!)! I do not always find good deals on facebook marketplace but these ones have paid off big time!!

So what are you currently working on?

I am currently working on painting all the old trim white, this will for sure keep my busy for a while and it is so nice to just see it all be crisp clean white all over. I also started painting our blue trim on our house white. I started with the windows and will eventually work on the porch, soffit and side pieces that are a little trickier to get to and do a lot of during nap time. This week we are also picking up the bi-fold doors that I will paint white as well and maybe we will get them hung soon. It is not on the top of our list though because that is something we can do when the weather gets colder and we have a few more important things to do outside before the snow comes!! Oh yes I feel the same way, I wish summer and fall stayed forever.
